I know the rush to name him after you buy or get him whatever way is great, but still, even though many think it's not a serious problem, I think you should take the extra few minutes to search for the perfect name and be happy with it for the rest of his life.
The alternative of course is to rename him after a period of time, whatever the reason is, boredom, or maybe you don't like it anymore; but in my opinion that's not a good answer because it might be confusing to the dog. People might think that the dog won't realize the difference but I guarantee it will be confusing. Imagine after years of people calling you Ted, they start calling you Mark and the get angry when you don't answer.
That's why I think you should really think this out, because if you choose the wrong name , soon every time you call him will be like this annoying itch that gets bigger and bigger and you will end up hating the dog despite the fact that it isn't its' fault.

For example, you should know that every race has names that go well and bad with it. And of course, even though you have a small and cute dog now, let's say a pitbull, you shouldn't name it Bubbles, because it will get bigger and I don't think that would be a good choice.

- keep in mind that it will grow and that it might outgrow it's cute name
- you will call him over 30.000 times using that name
- the name shouldn't match the dog only but the owner as well
- even though you think Zorxar is a cool name now, you might change your opinion after a few months
- once you choose a name, stick to it or it might confuse your dog
- a cute puppy name can wait a day or two, in order to find the prefect one.
